RigRef is your offline quick-reference for two-way radios — step-by-step "how do I…" cards for 35+ radios, emergency frequencies, repeater lists, and a field comms planner that works with no signal.
How do I add repeaters?
On the Repeaters tab, tap "Import a CHIRP/CSV file" and pick a file you exported. On RepeaterBook, choose the CHIRP export format — other formats won't import. You can also tap "Find repeaters online" to open RepeaterBook inside the app and capture your export.
The over-the-air transfer isn't connecting.
Open the Field tab on both phones. On the receiver tap "Receive over the air" first, then send from the other phone. Allow the Local Network permission when asked (Settings → RigRef → Local Network). Keep both phones nearby, unlocked, and on the transfer screen. Sending is a Supporter feature; receiving is free.
A step doesn't match my radio.
Procedures vary by firmware and region. Cards marked "Check" or "Verify" are flagged as lower-confidence. Please tap "Suggest a correction" in the app (or email us) and we'll fix it.
What does the Supporter unlock include?
All reference content is free. Supporter adds color themes, alternate app icons, a red Night Vision mode, and over-the-air field-plan sending. Field Mode (larger text) is free for everyone.
RigRef is a quick reference, not a replacement for your radio's manual. Always confirm against your actual radio. Transmitting on some services requires a license — operate legally.
